That’s what I’m talkin’ about….

This article makes complete sense to me. Data supporting that workers over 50 years of age who lost their jobs are now working harder for less money, but loving it more, because we are doing something that we have wanted to do most of our lives. We took job loss at the age of 50+ as a gift and a blessing to have a second chance to do something more rewarding to our inner selves. In many cases, severance packages is making this possible. I wanted to find some new business to start for the last 5 or more years that I worked in my corporate job just because I could not stand what I was doing every day. If I had found a business venture, I would have takenĀ  small business loan against my house to pursue my dreams. As fate turned out, the decision was made for me, only, I was more prepared and confident in myself. So, as I have always believed, everything happens for a reason.

Here is some good data in this article.

Trying the ebook gadgets again?

I for one, love new innovation gadgets, so any news on something new is good with me. I am just curious to see if the new Kindle ebook reader will do any better than previous devices to read electronic books. It only makes sense as you can have literally tons of books in one portable device at your disposal. The future will determine how the Kindle does with the Boomer generation.

Here’s a good article about it.

Watch HBO’s The Alzheimer’s Project documentary – May 10-14, 2009

The Alzheimer’s Project

(Click on the above link to watch a video trailer of the HBO documentary.)

HBO is presenting the ground breaking documentary on May 10-14 to raise public awareness of this dreaded disease. There are many ways that HBO is making this film available to everyone, even if you don’t have access to HBO. There are local libraries and senior citizen centers showing it and even the major cable and Verizon’s FiOS is making HBO available for free during those days. The idea is to make as many people be able to watch this film as possible.

Currently, as the world is going through the H1N1 (swine flu) epidemic, the public is very aware of how diseases like the flu become very much on the mind of the public. The fact is that Alzheimer’s Disease is affecting so many more people but as it is usually thought of as an elderly disease and takes a long period of time to become apparent, the public does not have the same type of heightened awareness. That is why it is important to get as many people to see this film as possible, so that everyone realizes how huge the affect of Alzheimer’s Disease is on our country and the world.

People need to ask their congressional representatives to do all they can to provide funding for support, care and research to find a cure for this terrible disease.

Here is an article from Baby Boomer Davy’s Locker with more detail about the HBO film and other inportant information as well.
